It's Children's Book Week this week (August 20th - 26th). Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia, celebrating its 65th birthday in 2010. Each year, many schools and public libraries from all over Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators.
Of course, we are running the school sculpture competition to celebrate. If you haven't already checked them out, pop into Wallan, Seymour and Kilmore libraries to check them out and vote on your favourites. Voting closes on Friday 26th August!
Song of the week...
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one,
The little one stops to suck his thumb
And they all go marching in to get out of the rain
In to get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to tie his shoe
The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to climb a tree
The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to shut the door
The ants go marching five by five, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to take a dive
The ants go marching six by six, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to pick up sticks
The ants go marching seven by seven, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to pray to heaven
The ants go marching eight by eight, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to shut the gate
The ants go marching nine by nine, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to check the time
The ants go marching ten by ten, hurrah, hurrah...
The little one stops to say "THE END"

Why did the teacher wear sunglasses?
Because his class was so bright!
