Not long to go!

Entry to the One World, Many Stories School Sculpture Competition is open to all primary-aged children who live in Mitchell Shire.  Entries close this Friday (12 August), so be quick!

Get your sculptures in to be in the running. You could win a prize for the Best, Most Unusual or even the Encouragement categories at each library branch so the odds are pretty good! See below for the entry form or pick one up from your nearest Mitchell library.

Friday (12 August) is International Youth Day.  International Youth Day is the best time to commemorate the power and strength of the youth all around the globe. International Youth Day has been celebrated every year on 12th August since 1999.

Song of the week...
Hands on Shoulders
A good action (and listening) song ;D
Hands on Shoulders
Hands on knees
Hands behind you,
if you please!
Touch your shoulders
now your nose
Now your hair and now your toes
Hands up high in the air
Down at your sides and touch your hair
Hands up high as before
Now clap your hands, 1, 2, 3, 4!

Cool things to do...
Head to Avenel for their Produce & Craft Market on Sunday 14th August. Grow it, bake it and make it!! Regular features include live music and free kids’ art, plus a scrumptious BBQ and plates of delicacies in the Tennis Clubrooms. It's at Jubilee Park, Livingstone Street, Avenel from 10am till 2pm. For information contact Trish Heaslip on 0419 392 196. For more info contact Heathcote Visitor Information Centre on 5433 3121 or email: info@heathcoteonshow.com.au

Or search for the City of Lost Toys with Dora the Explorer live on Friday 12 & Saturday 13 August at the Princess Theatre in 163 Spring Street, Melbourne.  Families can join Dora, Boots, Diego and their friends on a musical adventure through the number pyramid and the mixed-up jungle.  Along the way the audience will use their map-reading, counting, music and language skills to successfully get Dora and her friends to the City of Lost Toys.  It's on at 10.30am and 1pm and costs $29.50-$49.50.  For bookings, phone: 9299 9800
