Next Wednesday (19 October) the Children's services staff are attending a staff development day.  As a result, Storytime at Broadford and Kilmore and Rhymetime at Wallan will not be held.  But we'll be back as usual the following week... hopefully having learned some fantastic new skills (get ready for a ukelele solo from me).

Sunday 16 October is World Food Day.  Proclaimed in 1979, it's aim is to heighten public awareness of the world food problem and strengthen solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.  Maybe you could donate some food to a charity organisation or discuss the possibility of sponsoring a child with your parents?  Or you could just be sure to eat all your lunch without wasting anything...

Song of the week...
Five Cookies
Action poem

Five little cookies in the bakery shop.
Shinning bright with the sugar on top.
Along comes (child's name) with a nickel to pay.
He/she buys a cookie and takes it away.
(continue with four, three, two and one).

On this week...

Joke of the week...
Here's the best homework excuse ever…
Teacher: Where is your homework?
Student: I lost it fighting this kid who said you weren't the best teacher in the school.

That's it for now.  See you next time!
