Andrea Rieniets and Ande Lemon from Cha Cha Sam make songs and stories that bring children and their communities closer together through singing, dancing and practicing communication and they definitely know how to engage both children and grown-ups.
Liz, Bonnie & I had the best day, filled with laughter, great ideas for making Storytime better and ukelele! Bonnie mentioned she's thrown in one of the new songs we picked up to her Storytime session and I even attempted to do a uke solo today at Storytime (if I could just get my fingers to find the G chord).
Here's a fantastic new song (& Bonnie's new fave) that we picked up whilst in Melton.
A Ram Sam Sam
Sing it slowly, then try a speedy version & see if you can keep up!
A ram sam sam, a ram sam sam (bang fists together -sort of like One Potato, Two Potatoes)
Guli guli guli guli guli ram sam sam (keep doing the same action)
A ram sam sam, a ram sam sam
Guli guli guli guli guli ram sam sam
A rabi, a rabi, (sweep hands downwards, then upwards)
Guli guli guli guli guli ram sam sam
A rabi, a rabi,
Guli guli guli guli guli ram sam sam
Here's a utube version to check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgWAjHmICp4
That's it for now. See you next time!
